Water: Above & Below
Shutting off the water Monday morning before we headed to the USA turned into a bit more of a deal than either of us ever imagined.
That big white truck is really a massive vacuum on steroids (as you can see from the top pic). It literally sucks the earth up (rocks, tree roots and all) to 'dig' a hole around the pipe.
I joked that every house should have access to one at least once a year to get rid of the clutter. It'd give 'housecleaning' a whole new meaning! But I digress...
After the men made the necessary repairs they filled the hole back in, swept the boardwalk, raked the cedar chips back on top, and painted the valve a spiffy neon blue. Thanks, guys!
We drove as far as Gaylord, Michigan, and enjoyed a tasty turkey dinner at Gobblers Restaurant. Seriously, what else would a place called Gobblers serve?!
This morning we woke up to snow and freezing rain. Although it turned to rain about thirty minutes south of Gaylord, it rained all the way to Franklin, Indiana. Fingers crossed the sun comes out tomorrow!
